Welcome to the Executives Association of Long Beach Member Directory

The long standing slogan of the association has been "Business is our Business". The Executives Association of Long Beach (EALB) was founded in 1922. It is an association of Long Beach business executives, each of whom represents his or her respective firm at the management level.

The Long Beach Executives Association is a member of the International Executives Association, a worldwide group of similar associations. It is not a service club, a social group or fraternal order. The EALB is a networking group for business owners and high level executives. It has but one unique objective: to capture the natural bond of common interest which exists between business executives and by regular weekly meetings, develop and enjoy a brand of fellowship conducive to the creation of additional and profitable business for all its members.

It does not require its members to patronize each other, but it does provide opportunities for each member to promote their products or services and it can open doors that otherwise are closed to desired business. Members of the EALB often consider the association as an extension of their own business or profession.

On Monday, November 5th the Executives Association of Long Beach met for the Thanksgiving luncheon and to hear from George Marinos of T.G.I.S Catering.

George Marinos was our host and speaker at this week's meeting. TGIS Catering has been a member of the Execs since 1994 and originally began with Sofia Riley, the founder and George's sister. Now George is the Executive member and along with his niece Elizabeth. Their dad came to the United States in 1951 and was in the food business then too. George grew up in kitchens but when attending college at USC decided to study accounting. He was then in the entertainment industry for years until Sofia asked him to come work and with her. They have been going strong ever since and as everyone can agree that their food gets more delicious and creative every year.

George provided insight into what prepping for the holiday season looks like for T.G.I.S. and what new types of foods T.G.I.S are planning for this year. This year T.G.I.S is creating meals that are from the farm to the table, which includes using grass- or corn-fed beef or hormone free birds. In anticipation for the holiday, George has currently ordered 300 22 lb. turkeys, which will be whole roasted before the meat is removed from the bone for their meals. George also boils the bone to use in the stock of gravy’s and other glazes.

George treated the Execs to a wonderful Thanksgiving meal as an example to us how those techniques they use actually taste. The entire meal of turkey, ham, veggies, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pumpkin bread was delicious. George and T.G.I.S are pushing to create more appetizers for the holidays. The appetizers are small and will allow you to try so many different items at one time.

When looking for someone to cater for the holidays, look no further then T.G.I.S. The customer service is wonderful and they will work with you to create an amazing menu that will fulfill you and your guest expectations.
