The long standing slogan of the association has been "Business is our Business". The Executives Association of Long Beach (EALB) was founded in 1922. It is an association of Long Beach business executives, each of whom represents his or her respective firm at the management level.
The Long Beach Executives Association is a member of the International Executives Association, a worldwide group of similar associations. It is not a service club, a social group or fraternal order. The EALB is a networking group for business owners and high level executives. It has but one unique objective: to capture the natural bond of common interest which exists between business executives and by regular weekly meetings, develop and enjoy a brand of fellowship conducive to the creation of additional and profitable business for all its members.
It does not require its members to patronize each other, but it does provide opportunities for each member to promote their products or services and it can open doors that otherwise are closed to desired business. Members of the EALB often consider the association as an extension of their own business or profession.

From 1913 to 1969, John Choura Sr. owned and operated meat markets in Chicago, built a successful grocery market chain and developed a restaurant landmark with long lines and a short wait. The success of these properties led the Choura family to California in the late 60’s, where they emerged in Long Beach as one of Southern California’s first catering companies.
Their reputation of superior service continued through three generations by offering quality food and beverage products one guest at a time and catering events such as the first Long Beach Grand Prix.
In the late 90’s, the legacy of the iconic Elks Lodge was coming to an end and needed new vision and a restored relevancy for the community. In 1997, The Grand Long Beach Event Center was born through an overhaul of all the event spaces including the Grand Ballroom and both outdoor courtyards, while the facility received exterior repairs and interior upgrades and enhancements.

On Monday, January 29th the Executives Association of Long Beach met for their weekly networking luncheon. This week's speaker was Jim Choura, owner of The Grand and Choura Events. Jim has been a member of the EALB the longest. He joined in 1976 in classification of events and has keep his weekly business appointment with the EALB ever since. Jim also holds the title of 3-time Past President and Don Temple President's Award recipient.
On Monday, January 9th the Executives Association of Long Beach met for their weekly meeting to hear from Jim Choura of The Grand.
